Start with your WHY?
We’ve put together a guide to help you in planning out the Vision for your Dream Wedding. Coming up with playlists for an evening is easy, but how it fits and when its played? that makes the real difference.
Why are you having a wedding reception: Is it because it’s a tradition? If so, what is it that you like about the tradition of it? Are there any traditions that are specific to your area? We know the Winnipeg & Steinbach areas have traditions of their own that are heavily influenced by peoples faith. Traditions are important items to make note of – they will determine the style of your wedding, after which you can ask your DJ/ MC about ideas that will honour traditions you decide to include.
What do you like or dislike about weddings: This is important so you can focus on the things you want and avoid the ones you don’t. Sometimes brides get caught up in the smaller details and completely forget about the things that will impact the experience for them and their guests. Think about what will matter in the end, keep in mind music and how it is played that will set the mood and energy of your big day! Ask your DJ/ MC about ideas for showcasing the things you do like and possible passing over the ones you don’t
What do you want your guests to feel and say about your wedding afterwards?: Remember, you are creating a party for ALL attending. This will be a day to remember and reminisce about for years to come. What you provide for experience will play a big part in that. Some words we’ve heard our couples from the Steinbach area mention are classy, rustic, fun, country while Winnipeg brides & grooms sometimes say Fun! Dance Party! Crazy! Again, your Wedding DJ/ MC will be able to affect the guests experience in a big way so be sure to explain your vision and the experience you want to create and expect that he/she will be able to give ideas.

Once you have been able to understand all of your WHY’s you will be able to build on them and start planning out the details!
